Mission Statement
The
Computer Information Systems
Department’s primary goal is to excel in
teaching quantitative and critical
thinking skills as well as interpersonal
skills. Students are given opportunities
to develop strong abilities in areas
such as leadership, written and oral
communications, and teamwork. Through
coursework students discover the
relationship between Information
Technology and the business environment.
Computer Information Systems is about
how information technology can be used
to enhance business processes. CIS not
just a technical degree program, but it
is also a business degree program. More
and more businesses are relying on their
information systems to stay competitive,
and knowing the capabilities of
information technology, as well as how
to build systems is a fundamental skill
in organizations.
In
addition, students gain technical
experience in:

in tools such as: C++, JAVA, COBOL,
and Visual Basic.Net

Systems analysis and
design including Visio & UML

Database Management
with an emphasis on data modeling (ERDs)
and SQL

Telecommunications ,
Data Communication & Networking
